The House That Jack Built

Two named hurricanes, Matthew and Irma, battered the east coast of Florida in 2016 and 2017. Buried within the debris lie the bodies of two young women. Blue tarps cover roofs and hide the despair of thousands of homeowners. Furniture becomes the new lawn ornaments along route A-1A. The sunny days suggest that this paradise can fool us into letting our guard down. George and his family learn that even in THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT, the treasured children’s story, there is a lot of sorting out to do before the house becomes habitable.

Growing up in rural Maine, blessed with seven sisters and seven brothers, he separated himself from the madness by reading and watching. Later, Reading and watching continued as a teacher for thirty-two years. Since retiring and moving to Florida with his wife Carey in 2003, he has been putting those experiences on the written page. Each of my eight books tells a different story.
